As I came to the library today to add a new posting, (my home 'puter is down and I'm still searching for a new laptop) I found myself looking for an inspirational verse. Funny how the Holy Spirit will lead one's eyes to a message for today. Funny really isn't the word, God's messenger speaking through His word is another confirmation of His promise to "be with you, always."
1 Samuel 12:24 tells us "Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you"
There seems to be a new religion rearing it's ugly head in this country. The religion of "Trust in the Government First and Serve blindly." We hear our leaders invoking God when it's for their purpose, rejecting Him when it's not. I know there is a fear beginning to rise in our Christian brothers and sisters over things that are heard on the different news outlets. But let me reassure you, that these are not "desperate" times for Christians, these are times to rejoice and look to the heavens.
God says to fear no one or nothing, only Him. Now this is not the type of fear of cringing in horror, this is a type of respect one would have for a Loving Father. He also tells us to serve Him truthfully with all our heart. If you notice, this is a command, not a request, because He wants you to look back and remember all the wonderful things He has done for you.
Have you been through a severe illness, loss of a loved one or loss of a job? Have you been in a situation where it seemed all was lost and all turned out OK? Was you lost, and now are found by Gods forgiveness and Grace?
Fear noting you see and hear. Look to the heavens; for the bible tells us of the signs for His return! Jesus said we can look to the heavens for the signs of weather changes, so we can also see the signs of his return! Matthew 16:2-4 says " He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?"
Study your bible, look at what God's words are saying. Do not fret over these things, believe in the Lord Jesus and His promises. A glorious day is approaching! I will rejoice and be glad in it!
