The Head of the Church

Sometimes I watch some of these preachers on TV and wonder where they get their ideas about Christianity. Now, I believe ninety percent of our protestant pastors are bible believing teachers of God's word, there are also some who have me scratching my head.

I must take my lead from the instruction book, the BIBLE. You know the one that stands for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth!

In Colossians 1:18 Paul tells us that "He (Jesus) is the head of the body, the church; who is the beginning, the firstborn of the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence"

Jesus is the head of the church. We have pastors to oversee and lead the flock. We have workers in the church doing whatever God has called them to do. But it is plainly written that no man, nor board of directors, nor any earthly being has authority over Christ's Church. That should lead a lot of folks to ask who's teachings are we listening to.

God has put his Son's name above all names. No Pope or self appointed man can have authority over the Church, if it is a true church in the body of Christ Jesus.

My friends, I am not going to try to judge anyone's heart, but we are allowed to judge false doctrine. I am pro Christ and pro Bible. I want to see everyone in heaven, but sadly the bible tells us many will not accept His free gift.

I urge you, do not be blind in following a spiritual leader. Put on the full armour of God. Read your bible. Know it. As the Holy Spirit to give you understanding and discernment. Question everything against biblical truth. And you will be blessed!
