The Harvest

Hello my Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I am still struggling with getting a new computer the last having a total crash. It seems funny the law enforcement folks (which I am retired from) can pull files from totally burned up memories, but no one could pull up my ministry related files. Hummmmmmmmmmm....

But, please be patient with this blog. I am hoping to have a new laptop by the end of this month and be back up an running stronger than before, dedicating both the machine and my time to the Lord's work.

Speaking of work, here in the Heartland Bible Belt (aka the flyover) states, it is that time if year again. I'm speaking of farms reaping the harvest of their spring plantings. While most go to Kroger in the east and Safeway west of the Mississippi River, there are those that grow those groceries for others to eat. (Yes, apples do grow on trees Junior, not in a magic factory!)

Jesus also told us there were times to harvest. We are commanded to plant seeds in the morning: Ecclesiastes 11:6 In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.

Here is the part I love, for Jesus explained what the seed was: Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

Jesus didn't say it was money or tithes or things, He said it was the "WORD OF GOD!"

My friends all you have to do to plant seed is speak the word of God. You need not add to nor take from it. You speak it and let the Holy Spirit do with it as He will. We cannot save anyone! I believe many good evangelists and people of God begin to loose site of who the true Savior is when God begins to bless their ministries with people coming to Christ in large numbers. We can do nothing! All good things come from Christ Jesus. We plant the seed and let the Holy Spirit move and convict those who He will. Now back to the harvest....

Now comes the time for the harvest, the seed has either grown or not, it has fallen on good soil or bad, it has grown in the rain and sunlight, or been choked out by the thorns. Either way, a harvest time is arriving. And the good will be seperated from the tares.

But the seeds you sowed for Christ may not be the seeds you help harvest. Jesus is the Harvester, but you, as a follower of His, help as He sees fit. For He told us: Matthew 9:37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; and then in Matthew 28:9 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

I believe this with all my heart, if you are in the Lord's service, someone, somewhere, at some time has prayed for God to send you to help with the harvest. Obediant Christains all over the world are praying dailey for laborers and you are one of the results of that prayer.

Why do we need to work fervently and not delay? Because the bible warns us in John 4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

Remember this warning, burn it into your heart so you will continue the spiritual fight and work for the harvest. For one day soon, Revelation 14:15 will come true and a voice in Heaven will be heard "And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe."

Now go and be a good witness for Christ!

God Bless,
Terry
